Tournament Rules

🛑   Please Read Before Starting Your Registration

To avoid common errors with the GotSport system, please follow these steps exactly. Do not select your existing league team (e.g., “Canton Tigers”) from your dashboard. Doing so will pull in your entire seasonal roster, which is incompatible with this event.

Roster Requirements: Minimum 4 players / Maximum 8 players.

Phase 1: Creating Your Tournament Team(s)

  1. Start Fresh: Click the registration link to begin.
  2. Ignore “My Teams”: When your existing teams appear in the “My Teams” box, do not click register next to them.
  3. Create a “Specific Event” Team Name: In the “Search Team” area, type a new, unique name for this specific tournament team.
    • Example: if your regular team is the “Tigers,” name your tournament entries “Orange Tigers” and “White Tigers.”
    • Note: Even if you are only bringing one team, you must create a new name to ensure the roster size is restricted correctly.
  4. Search & Select: click “Create New Team.”

Phase 2: Assigning Coaches

  1. Assign Staff: Ensure you or your assistant coach are manually added to this specific event team during the process.

Phase 3: The “Single Cart” Checkout

You can pay for all your teams at once, but you must follow this specific sequence to keep them in one shopping cart:

  1. Register Team #1: Complete the registration until you reach the Checkout/Payment screen.
  2. Enter Payment Details: You must enter your credit card information for the first team before adding others.
  3. Add Additional Teams: Once the card info is entered (but before submitting the final order), return to the original registration link to enter your next “Specific Event” team.
  4. Finalize: Repeat this until all your teams are listed in the cart, then complete the final checkout.
      Your card will not be charged until all the correct tournament forms and team rosters have been completed and you are accepted into the tournament. 

How to Add Players to Your Tournament “Specific Event” Team Roster

Follow these steps to ensure your players are correctly assigned to your tournament-specific roster.


  1. Log In: Access your coach profile at gotsport.com.
  2. Team Management: Click on the Team Management tab in the top menu.
  3. Select Team: Click on the “Specific Event” Team Name you created during registration (e.g., “White Tigers”).
  4. Roster Tab: Select the Roster tab from the team menu.
  5. Select Event: Open the event search box using the drop-down arrow and select 2026 CYSA 4v4 Summer Kickoff Classic, then click Search.
    • Note: This event will only appear if you have already completed the initial registration process.
  6. Do Not Clone: Ensure the option to “clone roster from another event” is left blank. Do not select any previous rosters to clone.
  7. Add Players: Under the Players tab, click the Add Player button.
  8. Enter Player Info: Input the Player’s First Name, Last Name, and Date of Birth exactly as they appear on your association’s official roster. Assign their jersey number and click Save.
    •  Troubleshooting: If a player is not found, DO NOT create a new player profile. Instead, double-check that the name and DOB match your official member list exactly.
  9. Repeat: Follow this process for every “Specific Event” team you have registered.

Important: Please remember that your tournament roster must consist of a minimum of 4 players and a maximum of 8 players.
